For over ten years I've worked at the intersection of hands-on engineering and team leadership — from freelance projects in 2013 to leading fintech product engineering today. I've shipped e-commerce platforms, booking services, HRMS solutions, and financial systems used by thousands.

As Technical Lead at Moby in Malaysia, I own architecture decisions end to end — data models, service boundaries, infrastructure — and mentor the engineers who bring them to life. Quality, security, and scale are non-negotiable in fintech, and that bar shapes everything I build.

Problem

A portfolio of 15+ travel brands — RentByOwner.com among them — needed live vacation-rental inventory from the world's biggest OTAs: millions of listings whose prices and availability change constantly.

Built

A Node.js ingestion layer integrating the Booking.com, HomeAway, and VRBO supply APIs, with RabbitMQ pipelines and Redis caching keeping listings and rates in sync at high throughput.

Outcome

One supply engine powering the booking funnel across the entire brand portfolio — $3.5M in yearly revenue.

Problem

Interactive fiction where readers steer the plot needs an AI that remembers — characters, tone, and stakes have to stay coherent no matter which branch a reader takes.

An LLM orchestration layer over ChatGPT and Gemini with context management for long sessions — generating stories from existing tales or entirely new ideas. React front end, Django backend.

Outcome

Read-and-play story experiences where every reader choice branches the narrative in real time, without losing the thread.

Problem

Bangladesh's largest computer chain sold through 20+ physical branches — but had no online channel to match its retail footprint.

Built

A Laravel storefront with Node.js services syncing live branch-level inventory, Algolia search across thousands of SKUs, and cash-on-delivery plus EMI payment flows.

Outcome

ryans.com became the chain's national online channel — the storefront of the country's #1 computer retailer.
